Two Nonprofits Awarded Capacity Building Grants

The John Rex Endowment continues its investment in capacity building for nonprofits in Wake County and awards two grants totaling nearly $80,000. Wade Edwards Learning Lab (WELL) and Wake Education Partnership will each receive grant support.

Capacity building grants will be awarded in the amount of $40,250 to the WELL and $39,462 to Wake Education Partnership. Capacity building projects allow organizations to plan or implement strategies to increase their effectiveness and sustainability.  The John Rex Endowment is committed to funding this work for organizations that support an environment where children and families in greater Wake County live healthy lives.

“We support nonprofit organizations through capacity building grants to help strengthen and enhance core infrastructure,” said Kevin Cain, president and CEO of the John Rex Endowment. “The goal is to help them work effectively and efficiently to achieve their mission.”

The John Rex Endowment has invested more than $1.5 million since October 2009 to support nonprofit capacity building for 32 local organizations.
