FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The John Rex Endowment Announces Mary Stevenson as New AccountantRALEIGH, N.C. (June 13, 2008) - The John Rex Endowment is pleased to announce Mary Stevenson has joined their team as accountant. Stevenson has a diverse business and accounting background with nearly 15 years experience working for businesses in North Carolina, including Touche Ross & Co. and Hunter & Hunter CPAs. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a long-time member of the community, Stevenson has provided charitable leadership in a variety of capacities, including chair of The Junior League of Raleigh's annual fundraiser, A Shopping SPREE!, and volunteer director of the Tennis Competition for Special Olympics World Games. Stevenson's commitment to helping others was also extended to the Red Cross in Mississippi, where she volunteered for one month to assist in relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. Over the years, she has also served as treasurer for numerous local associations, events and fundraisers. # # # The John Rex Endowment invests in the development and support of activities, programs and organizations that improve the health of underserved people in Wake and surrounding counties.
