Purpose:
Consolidate Interact's services and develop a new family-centered model for meeting health and behavioral needs of children and mothers.
How:
- Train agency staff in best practices in behavioral treatment for children and family.
- Support SAFE Advisory Committee research and development of new treatment program that engages partner agencies.
- Develop protocols and coordination with medical provider for on-site screening and health insurance eligibility determination.
- Contract with child therapist to provide treatment with mental health and behavioral issues.
- Develop and implement programming for mothers and children to understand and manage children's needs.
Outcomes:
- Increase physical safety as evidenced by completion of safety and behavior plans and observed behavior improvements.
- Improve children's health as evidenced by medical and developmental screening and referral.
- Improve mother's health as evidenced by mental health and substance abuse assessment and referral.
- Increase understanding of effects of domestic violence and use of positive skills associated with discipline and anger management.
Cost/Term:
$359,459 over three years.
