Children's Access Program - Phase II

Purpose:
Continue to increase number of eligible Wake County children enrolled in public health insurance and convert proven process improvements as policy and administrative changes.
How:
- Conduct targeted enrollment activity to agencies that focus on low- income children likely to be eligible for coverage.
- Identify means to allow for successful identification and qualification process to become standard activities.
Outcome:
- Increase combined enrollment numbers in Health Choice and Medicaid by 3,000 both of first two years and by 2,000 third year.
- Develop sustainable support for seven processes that have proven to be effective through hospital emergency departments, physician practices and public schools.
Cost/Term: $749,416 over three years. July 2004-June 2007
