Children Health and Wellness Program

Purpose:
Provide health services, education and safe living arrangements for children of women in the residential recovery program while mothers of the children establish quality sobriety and gain skills to support their recovery from addiction.
How:
- Ensure children are in a safe secure environment.
- Provide clinical assessment of child and mother's health needs.
- Evaluate assessment and act as case manager for children for medical, mental health and developmental problems.
- Offer education and therapy groups for children.
Outcome:
- Family reunification efforts.
- Improved educational performance of children.
- Improved access to healthcare services.
Cost/Term:
$323,707 over three years. January 2006-December 2008
