From: Collaborative Partnership for Excellence in Youth Development
Purpose: The call is for the establishment of a collaborative system that establishes a common agenda, and facilitates planning, capacity-building, resource-sharing and maximization, oversight and accountability.
How:
- Develop a youth services asset map for Wake County via a team of trained youth.
- Leverage existing local resources and expertise to design an Annual Institute and Quarterly Training Calendar for youth workers in Wake County.
- Develop a cadre of youth who are (1) involved in the work of the Collaborative; (2) engaged in community decision-making; and (3) advocating for community needs from their perspective.
- Develop a web-based youth serving agency data management and referral system.
Outcomes:
- Increase awareness and usage of community assets, resources and opportunities important to our youth and their families.
- Strengthen the capacity of youth-serving agencies and organizations to produce improved results.
- Increase the ease of making referrals, and collecting, assessing and reporting programmatic data on a set of shared community indicators and outcomes.
- Coordinate activities of Collaborative members to achieve shared community positive youth development outcomes.
