Casework Supervision for Foster Children and Youth
From:
Sandy Cook, ACSW, LCSW
Children's Home Society of North Carolina

Only 9% of children and youth in Department of Social Services custody receive mental health services. How (activities):
- Contract a psychologist to administer assessment of children, provide clinical case consultation and advise practice modifications to improve program outcomes;
- Social work staff will make service referrals and document client progress.
Outcomes:
- 100% of children placed into adoptive homes will be comprehensively assessed;
- Enhanced capacity to identify clinical concerns and to present individual service need information when seeking authorization of service from providers;
- Improved plan for service provision;
- Team decision-making will happen with input of clinical consultation;
- Implement improved model of quality case management.
Cost/Term: $216,621 over three years. January 2008 - December 2010
