Patient Services Coordinator*

From: Wake Teen Medical Services

Purpose: Strengthen the infrastructure of Wake Teen and improve financials.

How:

1. Hire full time Patient Services Coordinator.
2. Upgrade billing software.

Outcome:

1. Improve compliance and continuity of care of self-pay patients.
2. Assist minimum of 25 teens to apply for Medicaid or NC Health Choice.
3. Decrease average number of days to collect insurance from 75 to 45.
4. 80% of outstanding patient accounts no more than 59 days.
5. Decrease of bad debt and insurance write off by 10% each year of funding.

Cost/Term: $76,260 over three years. August 2004-July 2007
