Pediatric Clinic*

Purpose: Equip and staff a clinic to provide medical services for children living in the Mission and Salvation Army.

How:

  1. Provide prompt, consistent care to children entering either shelter.
  2. Determine eligibility for public health insurance or other health access programs.
  3. Work with mothers of children to use health services.

Outcome:

  1. Prompt attention to medical needs on site.
  2. Better control of contagious illness.
  3. Families established with primary care physicians.
  4. Enrollment in public health insurance.

Cost/Term: $153,415 over three years. September 2004-May 2008
