Purpose: Equip and staff a clinic to provide medical services for children living in the Mission and Salvation Army.
How:
- Provide prompt, consistent care to children entering either shelter.
- Determine eligibility for public health insurance or other health access programs.
- Work with mothers of children to use health services.
Outcome:
- Prompt attention to medical needs on site.
- Better control of contagious illness.
- Families established with primary care physicians.
- Enrollment in public health insurance.
Cost/Term: $153,415 over three years. September 2004-May 2008
