Capacity Building Grants Awarded to Four Nonprofits

The John Rex Endowment announces four new Capacity Building Initiative grants, which total $108,500. The intent of the Capacity Building Initiative is to build the strength and resilience of the local nonprofit sector so that the children and youth of our community have the quality of services and support they need to thrive.

The following organizations will receive capacity building grants:
  • Haven House Services
  • Learning Together
  • Wade Edwards Foundation
  • Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network
Capacity building projects may focus on mission, vision, and strategy; governance and leadership; resource development; strategic relationships; internal operations and management; and program delivery and impact.

“We remain committed to supporting activities that can strengthen and build the capacity of nonprofit agencies that foster vital services for children and youth in our community,” said Kevin Cain, president and CEO of the John Rex Endowment. “Capacity Building Initiative grants provide nonprofits with resources to engage in planning and implementation for enhanced performance and increased efficiency.”

Since 2009, the John Rex Endowment has supported 37 capacity building grants totaling more than $650,000 funded through the Capacity Building Initiative.
