Five new grants, totaling $132,454, will be funded by the John Rex Endowment through a Capacity Building Initiative. Funding supports projects that aim to enhance an organization’s ability to sustain programs and improve performance. The grants include organizational assessment planning projects as well as capacity building implementation.
Four nonprofits will receive capacity building implementation grants which support projects such as board development and improved communications. The organizations receiving funds for capacity building implementation include:
- The Arc of Wake County
- Autism Society of NC
- Riley Hill Family Life Center
- Triangle Family Services
“Access to resources which enable nonprofits to engage in planning and capacity building can strengthen the sustainability of important programs in our community,” said Kevin Cain, president and CEO of the John Rex Endowment. “We are committed to making grants through the Capacity Building Initiative to support activities which foster the vital services that community agencies provide for children and youth.” In the first year of funding the Capacity Building Initiative, the John Rex Endowment has supported 29 grants totaling $459,895.
