Continuing Our Commitment

At the end of 2007, the John Rex Endowment invested in five Positive Youth Development grants. In May 2009, we convened a small group of community individuals, who previously expressed interest in positive youth development, for discussion of community needs, suggestions and ideas. In response to what we learned, we are planning a professional positive youth development activity for Wake County providers working with youth.

Upcoming Request for Proposals

The John Rex Endowment will release a Positive Youth Development Request for Proposals in fall 2009. A timeline and details will be posted online. We will be accepting grant proposals which aim to improve the capacity of organizations and communities to address the health and well-being of youth in Wake County by using a positive youth development asset-based approach with an emphasis on connectedness, engagement and leadership development. Grants will be awarded in February 2010.
