Get Out: Explore

Enjoy the beautiful spring weather while exploring new, nearby outdoor parks, trails and greenways.

Walk the new trail connecting a playground and community garden at Gethsemane Seventh Day Adventist Church to the Sanderford Road Park and surrounding neighborhood. This project is part of our Active Communities and Neighborhoods grant.

Spend an afternoon exploring the new greenway in The Town of Holly Springs. The Veteran's Park has developed a greenway encircling a fishing pond with connections to a major Wake County Greenway which also connects three neighborhoods to Holly Springs Elementary School and provides easy access to downtown. The project is part of our Active Communities and Neighborhoods grants. The Town of Holly Springs contributed matching funds to provide a new picnic shelter, dynamic fitness stations and playground which can accommodate up to 40 children at one time.
