Milk for Thought's "Big Pink Bus" Highlights Local Breastfeeding Support

The Triangle was selected as one of 30 nationwide stops for the Milk for Thought “Latch on America” tour. The tour spotlights local breastfeeding support such as the work of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health's Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI).

The event offered an opportunity for breastfeeding mothers to connect with resources in the community. CGBI partnered with La Leche League, fellow members of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), pediatric and obstetrics practices, and many others, to offer information and fun activities for children of all ages during the Milk for Thought’s “Big Pink Bus” event.

The John Rex Endowment has provided grant support for CCBI to develop and implement trainings for providers to improve breastfeeding-friendly child care in Wake County.
