NC Physical Activity and Nutrition Branch Announces Wake County Grant Opportunity: Healthy Places, Active Spaces

The Physical Activity and Nutrition (PAN) Branch of the NC Division of Public Health announced the Wake County Healthy Places, Active Spaces Grant Program.  This grant-funded initiative seeks six organizations or community groups in Wake County to increase opportunities for physical activity and the availability of healthful foods for underserved children and youth.  Eligible organizations or community groups include: non-profits, neighborhood associations, childcare centers, volunteer organizations, faith communities, schools or other settings where children and youth are served.  An optional conference call will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 12:30 to 1:30 PM to answer questions, clarify specifics pertaining to the grant, and assist organizations or groups with completing a Letter of Interest.

Full details and more information on registering for the conference call are provided in the grant opportunity announcement.  Funding for the Wake County Healthy Places, Active Spaces Grant Program is provided by the John Rex Endowment.
